It’s never too late to get prepared for hurricane season. The Hurricane Expo themes the past two years can help:
2008 – Know your Zone, Make a Plan
2009 – Hide from the Water; Run from the Wind
As a family project, you can research how to prepare for and be safe during hurricane season by clicking on the City or County logo to be directed to their emergency management pages. You will find a wealth of information there.
And for a family outing, head on over to MOSI to experience Disasterville featuring WeatherQuest, a 10,000-square-foot exhibition on floods, hail, lightning, tsunamis and volcanoes, including immersion theatres that demonstrate what it's like to be in an earthquake, hurricane, tornado and wildfire. Sometimes the visual impact this exhibit has can strengthen and reinforce the messages learned from the City and County emergency management sites.
